Frequently asked questions
Can I just crop the watermark off instead?
You can, and for a centred subject it is the fastest fix. It costs you the edge of the frame, which matters when the image is going into a fixed aspect ratio — a thumbnail, a banner, an ad slot. Erasing keeps the full composition.
Does this remove the invisible provenance data too?
No. Erasing pixels does not touch metadata or any embedded provenance signal the generator wrote into the file. If a platform checks for those, they remain readable. Treat this as a visual edit only.
Will the patch be visible?
Over sky, gradients, blur or flat colour it is effectively undetectable. Over fine repeating structure — text, foliage, brickwork — the reconstruction can look soft, and a second narrower pass usually tightens it.
Is it allowed to remove it?
