Frequently asked questions
Is it legal to remove a watermark?
It depends entirely on whose mark it is. Removing a watermark from your own photo, or from an image you generated yourself, is ordinary editing. Stripping a mark from stock photography, a photographer's proofs or any paid image you have not licensed is copyright infringement, and this tool is not intended for that.
How well does it work on a large watermark?
Small corner marks come out cleanly almost every time. A large mark across the middle of a detailed subject is much harder, because there is less surrounding context to reconstruct from and the model has to invent more. Expect excellent results on simple backgrounds and mixed results over faces or fine text.
Can it remove a repeating tiled watermark?
It can, but brush every instance. Tiled marks cover a large share of the image, so the reconstruction is doing much more work and the result is less reliable than on a single logo.
Does it work on video?
No. This is an image tool. Video watermark removal means editing every frame consistently, which is a different problem.
Will there be a watermark on my result?
No. Removing one watermark only to add another would be absurd. Your download is clean.
Do I need to install anything?

Watermarks end up on images for all sorts of ordinary reasons: a camera burning in a date stamp, an app branding its free tier, an AI generator marking its output, an old export carrying a logo you no longer use. When the picture is yours, the mark is just an artefact you want gone.
The tool uses inpainting rather than blurring or cloning. It reads the pixels bordering your brush stroke and reconstructs what the covered region most plausibly contained. That is why a logo over sky disappears completely, while one sitting across someone's face is a much harder ask.
One thing worth saying plainly: this is for images you have the right to edit. Stock photo previews, photographers' proofs and paid libraries watermark their work precisely because it has not been paid for, and removing those marks is not something this tool is built to serve.
